Traveling in China becomes much easier when you know a few essential Chinese phrases.

Each phrase is easy to pronounce and useful in real travel situations.

Eating Out

1.Hello / Hi
   你好
   Nǐ hǎo

2.I would like to order this.
   我想点这个。
   Wǒ xiǎng diǎn zhège.

3.Do you have an English menu?
   有英文菜单吗?
   Yǒu yīngwén càidān ma?

4.Not spicy, please.   

不要辣。   

Bù yào là.

5.I can't eat peanuts.   

我不能吃花生。   

Wǒ bù néng chī huāshēng.

Transportation

1.Please take me to this address.
   请带我去这个地址。
   Qǐng dài wǒ qù zhège dìzhǐ.

2.How much is the ride?
   多少钱?
   Duōshǎo qián?

3.Stop here, please.

  请在这里停。

  Qǐng zài zhèlǐ tíng.

Shopping

1.How much is this?

  这个多少钱?

  Zhège duōshǎo qián?

2.Can it be cheaper?

  可以便宜一点吗?

  Kěyǐ piányí yīdiǎn ma?

3.I’ll take this one.

   我要这个。

   Wǒ yào zhège.

Asking for Help

1.Excuse me.

  不好意思。

  Bù hǎoyìsi.

2.Can you help me?

  你能帮我吗?

  Nǐ néng bāng wǒ ma?

3.I don’t understand.

   我听不懂。

   Wǒ tīng bù dǒng.

4.Can you speak slowly?

   你可以说慢一点吗?

   Nǐ kěyǐ shuō màn yīdiǎn ma?
